Panettone is a great Italian cake that comes out at christmas and is from Milan.
It is traditionally a dome shaped cake and if you have been to an Italian house around the festive period you will know all about them.
It is made using a simple dough with the addition of a few ingredients and you do need to be patient as there are multiple risings to wait for.
You can have anything you desire in your panettone but we are going to keep it as close to the original as possible here. I have even had chocolate in some panettones and I regulary have some with jams in them. They are absolutely devine!
